Twentse Salon Maria Blaisse
A day full of music, workshops, the opening of the new exhibition Maria Blaisse. The Emergence of Form and a intellectual stimulating programme: this is the so called 'Twentse Salon' of 9th of February 2014. This Sunday afternoon at Rijksmuseum Twenthe will be one to remember. 14.00 - 15.00 hours Public debate with Arnoud Odding (RMT), Ronald Kox (AKI / ArtEZ), Susan Pinkster (B93 Artists Initiative), Ineke Geurts (Villa De Bank) and Michiel van der Kaaij (Art Association Diepenheim) on the question ‘what is the future of art?’.
15.00 - 15.20 hours Intimate concert by singer-songwriter Roos Blufpand, with piano and cello accompaniment.
15.20 - 15.30 hours What happens when an artist gets to meet a Twente car tyre manufacturer? Jaap van Wessum (ApolloVredestein) talks about the special collaboration with Maria Blaisse.
15.40 - 16.00 hours Artist talk with Maria Blaisse and Josien Beltman, art historian and staff member of the Rijksmuseum Twenthe.
16.00 -16.20 hours Opening of the exhibition Maria Blaisse. The Emergence of Form by writer and art expert Oek de Jong.
16.20 - 16.30 hours Live performance by dancers and musicians in the exhibition The Emergence of Form. Dancers improvise on music which is inspired by the bamboo structures of Maria Blaisse.
16.30 - 17.15 hours Enjoy a drink while listening to the music of Paula Krom and the Gipsy Jazz duo C'est si Bon.
11.00 - 17.00 hours Art book fair with bargains from the Museum Shop and the library.
11.00 - 17.00 hours Documentary Komma (2002) about the work of Maria Blaisse in the intimate film room in the loft. (Loft entrance via the stairs between room 8 and room 9)
11.00 - 17.00 hours Build together an artwork of bamboo (all ages).
11.00 - 17.00 hours Walk-in workshop ‘Making rubber body decorations’ (all ages).
12.00 - 13.30 hours and 14.00 - 15.30 hours
