Culture belongs to all of us
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science believes that culture should be accessible to everyone. Art and heritage connect us, inspire us, and tell us who we are. That’s why the Dutch government works to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy high-quality culture.
Museums play an essential role in this. They preserve the stories and treasures of our past and make them visible for new generations. In doing so, knowledge, beauty and craftsmanship remain alive and relevant.
To make this possible, the Dutch government supports 26 museums through the Heritage Act. These institutions care for works from the National Collection. Rijksmuseum Twenthe also receives support from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science under this scheme.
