Glass by Bernard Heesen
Unique glassware by Bernard Heesen – available exclusively in our Museum Shop
Rijksmuseum Twenthe proudly presents a limited series of glass objects by renowned glass artist Bernard Heesen (Leerdam, 1958). Each piece is hand-blown, making it truly one of a kind – a work of art to take home.
Glass has long fascinated Heesen. At high temperatures it is fluid and malleable, while cold it becomes hard and fragile. He himself calls it both “incredibly beautiful stuff” and “terribly difficult stuff”. This tension lies at the heart of his work: a constant interplay of experimentation and curiosity about the technical, artisanal, and artistic possibilities of glass.
The result? Distinctive objects full of character. Our Museum Shop offers a curated selection of these exceptional pieces – perfect for admirers of craftsmanship and design.
