Judikje Kiers, Director of the Amsterdam Museum, has stepped down from the Supervisory Board of Rijksmuseum Twenthe and De Museumfabriek. After eight years, she has reached the statutory maximum term as board member. The museums are deeply grateful for her expertise, sharp insights, and warm commitment over the years.
As a member of the Supervisory Board, Judikje Kiers guided the museums through a challenging period, including the COVID-19 pandemic. She also played a key role in the leadership transition of 2023, during which Caroline Breunesse was appointed as director.
Ellen ter Hofstede, Head of Audiences at the Drents Museum, now joins the Supervisory Board. She brings a wealth of experience in audience development and cultural entrepreneurship.
Ellen ter Hofstede is looking forward to her new role:
“Rijksmuseum Twenthe and De Museumfabriek are two museum gems in the east of the country. I look forward to helping them shine even brighter by contributing with positively critical input — together with my fellow board members and the director — as we aim for the right balance between ambition, capacity, and finances.”
Caroline Breunesse, Director of Rijksmuseum Twenthe and De Museumfabriek, and Stefan Kuks, Chair of the Supervisory Board, are delighted to welcome her:
“We’re very grateful that Ellen is willing to share her expertise with our museums. Her broad knowledge of audience engagement and cultural programming is a valuable addition to the Board. At the same time, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Judikje Kiers for her dedication and involvement over the past years.”
With the appointment of Ellen ter Hofstede, the Supervisory Board of Rijksmuseum Twenthe and De Museumfabriek is now a strong and diverse team, working together toward the museums’ future and ambitions.
