Parking with a disability card
Two disabled parking spaces are available next to the main entrance. With a valid disability parking card, you can park free of charge in any street parking space where payment would normally be required.
Access to the museum
At the main entrance, a platform lift is located next to the stairs. This lift has no railing. If you need assistance, ring the brass bell to the left of the stairs or call the reception desk on 053 – 201 20 27. Our staff will be happy to help.
Visiting with a walking aid or wheelchair
The museum is easily accessible for wheelchairs, rollators, and mobility scooters. Two wheelchairs are available for loan. Reservation is not possible; they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note: our doors do not open automatically. Prefer to visit with assistance? Our reception desk will be happy to help.
Cloakroom and accessible toilets
The cloakroom is wheelchair-accessible and equipped with low lockers and coat racks. Folding chairs are available for use during your visit. Accessible toilets are also provided.
Free admission for companions
Are you accompanying someone with a disability? Then you are welcome to enter free of charge. You can easily order your free ticket via our website.
Guide and assistance dogs welcome
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome, provided they are on a lead. Water bowls for your four-legged companion are available in the museum café.
Museum Café
The museum café is accessible for wheelchair users and visitors with walking aids – but not via the courtyard. Please ask a member of staff for assistance.
Would you like to sit outside on the terrace? Let us know at the entrance and we will reserve a spot for you on the paved section of the terrace.
