How do we stay grounded amidst it all? Are we doomscrolling our way towards an uncertain future, or do we retreat from a threatening reality in search of a world that feels safer and more humane?
The world seems to be changing faster than ever. Every day we witness major shifts in politics, climate, and technology. How do we manage to stay upright amid all of this? Do we ‘doomscroll’ our way toward an uncertain future, or do we retreat from a threatening reality in search of a world that feels safer and kinder? Perhaps nature offers an escape route.
GOGBOT and Rijksmuseum Twenthe explore the many ways in which we experience nature: as a refuge and as a threat. As a healing place that offers comfort, and as an uncontrollable force that makes us feel small and insignificant.
The artists featured in this exhibition are Eady van Acker, melanie bonajo, Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács, Jurre Latour, Jan Robert Leegte, Sputniko!, Charles Stankievech, and Mark IJzerman.
